Steveston's my home town: a historic fishing village at the mouth of the Fraser River and home to Canada's largest fishing fleet. It's only a 40 minute drive from downtown Vancouver, but it feels like it's a world away.
Stunning! Can't believe in all my years in Vancouver I've never remember going near Steveston. Better get my butt there before the horde of tourists will in a few weeks.
And for what it's worth, the places photographed were taken at Britannia Heritage Shipyard & the government wharf next to the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site.
Robyn! Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Memory boardwalk? Your pics of Britannia Shipyard took me back to my days working in the park in the mid-90's. Great post! Waterfront heritage sites like Britannia and the Gulf of Georgia cannery preserve an important part of British Columbia's history.
