  1. You should! Only a 2 hour direct flight from Vancouver... it's easier to get to than most people think!

  2. Outstanding photos Robyn-very well done.

And Yes it's easy enough to fly to QCI but not in any way cheap nor is touring there for those on a budget.

If a person has a few grand to spare for a week's holiday there's no better place-the life on the water has to be seen to be believed-the intertidal life stunning.

  3. Thanks for the kind comments salmonid! You're right, it's not a budget destination, but so worth the effort/money. Unfortunately I never got a chance to get out on the water. I was there on business and spent only one afternoon and one evening to myself. The afternoon was spent at the Haida Heritage Centre which was fabulous! The evening was spent exploring Queen Charlotte Village and Balance Rock.

I love intertidal zones... I'll be back!

  4. Great photos. I fell in love with totems at an early age. Each seems to have such an interesting story to tell. Haida Gwaii embodies so much that is BC. I'd love to go some day. Thanks for sharing.

  5. Great photos! I lived on Graham Island
for a few years in the late 60's - early 70's,
and have visited twice since. The variations
    in topography are absolutely astounding!
Was a great place to grow up - so much
unspoiled wildlife. The residents are very
inviting and laid back. I hope it doesn't ever
get too "commercialized". I think it's about
time for another visit. Did you got to Rennell
    Sound?
